Wickham Park Closed Tournament Sunday 8th May

#Club Championship #tournament

It's back! Wickham Park Closed Tournament is set to make a triumphant comeback in 2022 after being cancelled for two years in a row due to the coronavirus pandemic. The event is the biggest Table Tennis tournament in the UK, attracting huge names as hundreds of thousands of people descend on the streets of West Wickham. The extravaganza is going to take place on Sunday 8th of May, 9am start.

Who's playing?

We are blessed the biggest stars of the games will be present. In no specific order, we've got: Anita, Aarsh, Eric, Sam, Tony, Lew, Alex, Elham, Kun, Daniel, Rennis, Paul, Mike, Trevor, Richard and a wildcard player yet to be named.

3 titles up for grab

The players will be fighting on 3 fronts as the event is composed of 3 competitions: singles, singles handicap and doubles.

Regarding the singles competition, as our chairman elegantly puts it: "It's wide open! The dude that won it last time is in China, and the geezer who won it before that is over the hill now - so it's anyone's! Or is it? Some people think it's nailed on for you know who. Or is it?".

By nature, the other 2 competitions are also wide open. The draw for the players pairing in doubles will be revealed on the day.

Public access

Tickets sold out within hours of going on general sale. Beware of ticket touts reselling their tickets at bleeding price. We are told extra seats will be made available on the day, so that all fans can attend. Bring your friends and family, it's going to be a glamorous day!

Live coverage

Discussions with the major sports broadcasters are still ongoing. We will update this section once they've stopped fighting between themselves for the broadcasting rights.
