After a careful review of Table Tennis England guidance on a Safe Return to Play, the Table Tennis section at Wickham Park was able to re-open its doors to existing members for practice on Saturday 25th July. It's been a long wait for all of us who love this sport so much!
In this initial phase, things will be quite different than what they used to be: unfortunately, we'll have to wait longer before we can host those friendly group sessions again. For the time being, it's one v one practice only and booking is required. There's a number of restriction in place as well (no doubles, no change of ends or partners, use of wipes, hand gel... ) and we're asking all members to follow the guidance for a safe return to play. And unfortunally, guest players and visitors are not allowed yet.
The guidance and restrictions are being reviewed regularly and hopefully it won't be too long before the situation returns to normal - or to something close to normal. Table Tennis England anticipate to be in a position to move into stage 4 from 1st September, which is when local leagues will be able to re-start. Though, this is an evolving situation and things could change rapidely.
In the meantime, if you're thinking of joining the Club, please get in touch and we'll get back to you with more information as soon as possible.
